Senior Assistant Registrar – Procurement Manager (PE0-010)
The Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR) - Procurement Manager is primarily responsible for the University’s Centralised Procurement and Stores Section to manage, coordinate and control all the University’s procurement activities in compliance with the University Procurement Policy, Public Finance Management Act and National Procurement Commission (NPC) Act 2018.
The primary responsibility of the officer is to develop the University’s annual procurement plan and execute all procurements in consultation with the academic and non-academic departments and sections of the University. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the public disposal of University’s assets and machineries through Public Tendering process and procedures of the University in accordance with National Procurement Commission Act 2018 and Unitech Procurement Manual for Works, Goods and Services.
He/she will also assume the role of Executive Officer to the Technical Financial Evaluation Committee of the University Special Committee on Procurement and will also be responsible for constant awareness, communication and consultation with respective officers of each department responsible for purchasing and ensuring compliance with University Procurement Policies, Manual and Health and safety policies and procedures.
The successful candidate should possess a degree in Management, Accounting or any related field from a recognized institution. Required work experience is 8 years or more in a similar role with an excellent written and communication skills and proficiency in MS Office suite with good experience in negotiating contracts and agreement with vendors.
He/she must be mature with strong and proven leadership skills, be of sober habits, able to work under pressure and extended hours, have very good analytical skills, an eye for details (due diligence) and be honest and transparent. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration).
SALARY:
Senior Assistant Registrar I/II - K49,960.00 – K61,064.00 per annum
Domestic Market Allowance (DMA) - K6,200.00 – K11,800.00 per annum
