University of Papua New Guinea Announces Non School Leavers Application for 2027 Enrolments

2027 UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS: NON-SCHOOL LEAVER & RE-ENROLMENT APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

The University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) advises all prospective Non-School Leaver (NSL) applicants that, beginning with the upcoming academic intake for 2027, NSL applications for programs listed on the National Online Application System (NOAS) must be submitted through NOAS, administered by the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST).

This transition is part of UPNG's commitment to modernize and streamline the admissions process, ensuring greater efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for applicants nationwide, in compliance with DHERST regulations.

NON-SCHOOL LEAVER APPLICANTS - PLEASE NOTE

1) Programs Listed on NOAS

Applications must be submitted through the DHERST NOAS portal. Manual submissions will not be accepted.

RE-ENROLMENT APPLICANTS - PLEASE NOTE

Re-Enrolment Applications must also be submitted through the UPNG Applicant Portal on or before midnight, Friday 2nd October 2026.

Candidates who have withdrawn or been excluded from studies for academic or disciplinary reasons, and are eligible to re-enrol in Semester 1/2027 only, must apply under this category.

Note: Candidates must apply to the program in which they previously withdrew or were excluded. No change of program will be considered under this category.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS APPLYING THROUGH THE UPNG APPLICANT PORTAL

  1. Create a new account - Click "REGISTER" on the Applicant Portal homepage. Login accounts from previous years (2026 or earlier) cannot be reused; sign up fresh with a working personal email address for 2027.
  2. Download the User Manual - Available via the "Guidelines" link at the top right of the sign-up page, or from the UPNG website.
  3. Check your email (including Spam/Junk) - Login credentials will be sent after sign-up. If no email arrives, log in using the personal email and password you set during registration.
  4. Apply for ONE program only - Once selected, the remaining application sections will unlock for completion.
  5. Upload all required supporting documents - Scanned copies of compulsory documents are needed before submission is possible; prepare these in advance.
  6. Review carefully, then pay - Pay the K50.00 Application Fee online via BSP Pay and submit. No other payment method is accepted.
  7. Only applications fully submitted with online payment will be considered for selection.
  8. For queries, contact UPNG via the official applicant support email listed on the portal.
  9. Successful candidates will be notified by email by mid-December 2026, alongside those selected through DHERST NOAS.
  10. If your name does not appear on the Final List published on the UPNG website, your application was unsuccessful.
  11. Details on 2027 Fees, Registration, and Orientation will be included in the acceptance letter.

Manual applications with no record of online submission will NOT be considered.
