Australia Awards Support Emerging Women Leaders in PNG

 Emerging women leaders recently came together in Lae to develop their skills with a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management. Australia Awards has partnered with the PNG Business Coalition for Women to target emerging and talented women working in or preparing for their first management roles in PNG’s public service.

“I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been selected and sponsored to attend this course," said Polin Kavanamur, Senior Assistant Registrar at PNG University of Technology. 

"As a woman in a leadership role, I know that this course will help me become a more influential leader personally and professionally where I can create positive change in my work and community."

Australian Awards are supporting women to develop into leaders provides numerous benefits to organisational capacity and culture, broadening perspectives, and strengthening team dynamics and problem solving. Empowering women is smart business.

The Australia Awards have supported a range of priority sectors in PNG with more than 756 short course scholarships awarded to individuals showing potential and initiative as part of the #PNGAusPartnership since 2015.
