Testimony of a University Graduate from Simbu, PNG

My name is Baune Alois Ulkane from Simbu Province. I have completed my studies at the University of Papua New Guinea  in 2016 & Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.

Since 2016, I started applying for jobs but I was unable to secure a Job.

To be honest, since, I graduated out of UPNG, I didn't know how to put my signature on to the soft copy of my application. I didn't know how to attach my scanned files and send my applications online.

Because of the lack of simple computer skills I had struggled to improvise.

Every job I applied for, I did a hand delivery & still non of my application were successful.

After a countless number of unsuccessful job application, I searched on YouTube on how to apply for jobs online.

After getting some few tips on how to apply online, I started applying for jobs. After a countless number of applications I have applied to respective job vacancies, yet not even a single reply came back to me.

I thought, may be because of my poor CV format, lack of job experience & my English grammar, stopping me from getting a job.

Whatever the reasons, I was still confident because I thought my GPA will speak for itself but it turned out to be not working for me.

In late 2016, I joined my father and my Highlands brothers & started selling betelnut.

In 2016, NCDC put an end to betelnut in the Nation's Capital and it was a terrible time.

I told myself, I had to start somewhere, even if it means for me to be a buai seller, I already decided to take it on board.

Until 2017, I joined Black Swan security Services and worked as a static guard..

Currently, I am still working with Black Swan Security Service. My Bachelor Degree doesn't matter. All it matters to me is that at least I am working to earn an income to support my parents & my relatives who have sacrificed so much on me.

My Point is;

Although time is a healer, I can't buy time, I can only spend it.

I can't own time, I can't bring back time.

I have to start somewhere, to help my people with the little income I get instead of waiting, waiting & waiting for miracle to happen.

Little is Much when God is in it.

With little I earn, I can still support my family in any way I can. God will make it possible on its own timing for bigger things.
