Alice Wamba was acknowledged for her exceptional academic performance with a PNG Australia Partnership Prize. Employed by the Autonomous Bougainville Government in the remote Atolls District where services are very limited, Alice has been serving her community as a general nurse for 27 years.

“Alice is an outstanding clinical student midwife,” praised Cherolyn Polomon, Midwifery Course Coordinator. “She has shown great improvement in her performance since undertaking her studies and acknowledges the training has assisted her to go back fully equipped to serve the people of Bougainville when she returns. Her clinical performance is outstanding which is why she has been nominated as the best clinical midwife.

“It was our great pleasure to teach Alice because we know that she will be very handy and of great help to the people of Fead and the other isolated islands of AROB.”
