Applying to study at Sacred Heart Teachers College
School Leavers
School leavers must apply through the National Online Application System (NOAS) run by the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST). Students must put first Choice on their NOAS application and must have the required GPA of 2.4 or above. School leavers NOAS applications open by August annually.
Non School Leavers Application Forms for Sacred Heart Teachers College
Every year, the college invites Non school leavers to apply. There are no non school leavers application forms. Instead interested applications must apply through the appropriate Catholic Education Agency.
Applicants are to have achieved a GPA of 2.4 or above at Year 12 or upgraded through an appropriate FODE institution
Application to the Catholic Agency Board will be:
1. A letter of interest from the applicant, stating
- their interest in becoming a teacher
- their commitment to the Christian ethos of the college
- the remote area school they will serve, Examples of their participation in their local community
- Their commitment to return to their community after training for three or more years.
2. Requirements
- A support letter from two or more of the following
- Local Primary/Elementary School Board of Management Chairman,
- Education Agency Board or Secretary
- District/Provincial Board
- Parish Priest or Pastor
- A copy of Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent,
- A Curriculum Vitae
- Any other relevant supporting documents about work experience, references, or other trainings (if you have)
