Travel Arrangements Notices for TESAS Students : DHERST

 The Department of Higher Education, Science, Research and Technology (DHEST) has released the following statements on student tertiary fees and travel arrangements for 2023 academic year. 


This is to advice all stakeholders particularly students and parents on the following:

1. BEGINNING OF YEAR (BOY) TRAVEL

NEW INTAKE STUDENTS

Present your original Grade 12 Certificate and/or your student ID at your nearest Air Niugini Office that you indicated on your NOAS MyData “Nearest Airport” account to collect your ticket to travel to your respective selected institution. 

CONTINUING STUDENTS 

Present your ID Card to collect your ticket (your ticket will be at the nearest Air Niugini Office that you travelled to at the end of 2022 academic)

Students who were on Self-sponsor last year, 2022 but have secured scholarship this year, 2023 and need air travel to their respective HEIs must provide their travel itineraries to DHERST.  Students should contact officers responsible on the following contact details:

Students are encourage to use the Air Niugini Ticket Sales Group Email on students.dherst[at]airniugini.com.pg  for enquiries /rebooking. Ticketing Officers will respond directly to you with copies of your tickets. This is to avoid long queues at Sales offices for ticket collection. 

2. 2023 TESAS PAYMENTS TO HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS (HEIs)

The Budget Appropriation of K47, 07 million has been released by the Department of Treasury, an estimate of 19,000 scholarships will be awarded. 2023 first semester payments for all TESAS students will be paid directly to respective HEIs AFTER confirmation of student registration lists are submitted to DHERST.

3. 2022 SEMESTER TWO OUTSTANDING PAYMENTS TO HEIs


The GoPNG has honoured the request made by DHERST through the Department of Treasury to settle 2022 Semester two outstanding payments to HEI's.

A commitment of K33.3m will be released in installments and will be paid out to HEIs. The first installment of K3m was released to DHERST to facilitate payments to Institutions who have submitted their semester one Acquittals for 2022.   We expect all outstanding payments to be completed before end of semester one, 2023.
