The National Court has re-instated Fr. Jan Czuba as the Secretary for the Papua New Guinea (PNG) Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology or DHERST.
The Court made the ruling this morning after it found that natural justice was not given to Fr. Jan, when he was suspended and eventually removed by the National Executive Council in 2022.
The Court also found that his removal was illegal according to the Constitution and the Public Service Management Act.
Speaking to the media outside the courthouse, Fr. Jan thanked his counsel Edward Sasingian, saying he's relieved that the two-year court battle is now finally over.
''At the end of the day, justice provided evidence and facts and was served today,'' said Fr. Jan Czuba.
