2024 SILAG - UPNG PATHWAY BACHELOR PROGRAMS

The Somare Institute of Leadership and Governance (SILAG), a premier government training Institution, wishes to inform the public that the below Degree Programs are now available for delivery in 2024 at the SILAG’s Main Campus in Waigani, Port Moresby. The training will be delivered after-hours from 4pm to 7pm. The three pathway programs are the joint initiative of the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) and the Somare Institute of Leadership Governance, under the auspices of their existing partnership collaboration to improve the capacity of the PNG National Public Service. UPNG, as the partner agency, will lead-facilitate the programs.
The two-year programs are:
- BACHELOR OF BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT (HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - PROFESSIONAL STUDIES)
- BACEHELOR OF BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT (PUBLIC POLICY MANAGEMENT - PROFESSIONAL STUDIES)
- BACHELOR OF PUBLIC FINANCE & ACCOUNTANCY - (Those who have successfully completed this course can apply for Associate Membership from CIPFA, UK under the auspices of the MoU between UPNG & CIPFA)
The Eligibility Criteria is strictly subject to PILAG & UPNG Selection Policy:
- Grade 12 leavers with more than five (5) years of supervisory and management experience preferably in the public sector.
- Grade 10 leavers with more than ten (10) years of supervisory and management experience preferably in the public sector.
- Diploma of Human Resource Management (DHRM)/Diploma in Accounting (DIA) Graduands from PILAG
- Applicants should also have more than five (5) years of experience as practitioners in Human Resource Management/Accounting/Public Policy related environment.
- Applicants for Bachelor of Public Finance & Accountancy must have a CPA accreditation or must be working towards it.
