Themed "Unity in Diversity: Celebrating Our Heritage and Strength to Embrace Pasin Diwai," the program will kick off on Friday, 13th September, with an opening ceremony and conclude with an award ceremony on Monday, 16th September 2024. The event aims to bring students together through various activities, promoting cultural appreciation and unity within the university.

Among the highlights of the celebrations is a three-day sports carnival, where students will engage in friendly competition. Additionally, mini cultural activities and exhibitions, along with fun games, will be organized to showcase the rich cultural diversity present at DWU. The program will culminate with an Independence Mass at the JP Hall on 16th September, offering a moment of reflection and gratitude for the nation’s achievements.

The event's significance extends beyond just festivities; it seeks to foster a sense of understanding and acknowledgment of the diverse cultural backgrounds represented at the university. This initiative is particularly important in light of recent regrettable incidents on campus, which have underscored the need for greater unity and cultural appreciation among students.

Through this Independence Day program, DWU aims to reinforce the values of unity and diversity, encouraging students to embrace the spirit of Pasin Diwai. The celebrations are expected to bring the university community closer together, highlighting the strength found in cultural differences and the importance of coming together to celebrate national heritage.
