The brief engagement reinforced cooperation between the East Sepik Provincial Government and DWU’s St Benedict’s Campus, with expansion plans being mapped out for the years ahead.
Governor Bird and Professor Gibbs acknowledged the importance of sustained collaboration to ensure the campus continues to meet the growing demand for tertiary education in the province.
DWU said it values the provincial government’s ongoing support, noting that the university’s mission remains focused on serving Papua New Guinea through accessible and quality education.
Divine Word University became a full university in 1996 and has since expanded its footprint nationally, contributing to workforce development across multiple sectors.
