Programme Overview
The Certificate in Health Information Management (CHIM) is designed to equip health workers and related professionals with practical skills to manage, analyse, and use health information to support effective decision-making across Papua New Guinea’s health system.
The programme responds to the growing demand for quality health data to support planning, monitoring, evaluation, and service delivery in hospitals, health centres, government agencies, and non-government organisations.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate, or
- A qualification in a related field such as health information, medical records, monitoring and evaluation, statistics, ICT, project management, or a related discipline
Work Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years relevant work experience is required.
Study Mode
The programme is delivered through a flexible blended learning approach:
- 2 weeks of residential teaching (on campus)
- 13 weeks of online learning per semester
Study Duration
1 year consisting of 2 semesters.
Fees and Costs
- Application fee: K100 (non-refundable)
- Tuition fee: K3,400 per semester (K1,700 per unit)
- On-campus accommodation and meals: K2,800 per semester (Coronation Campus)
