PNG Governor-General Praises IBS Founder Sir Mick Nades for Lifelong Service to Education
Papua New Guinea Governor-General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae has commended IBS University founder Sir Mick Nades for his decades of commitment to advancing education and professional training in PNG.
Speaking at Sir Nades’ 80th birthday celebration, the Governor-General paid tribute to his enduring influence on higher education and the development of skilled professionals across the country.
Sir Bob acknowledged that Sir Mick’s contribution to Papua New Guinea’s education sector has shaped the careers of many accountants and leaders who now serve in key positions both locally and abroad.
He highlighted that through IBS University, Sir Mick has helped produce graduates whose qualifications are recognised internationally, strengthening PNG’s human resource capacity.
The Governor-General noted that the institution has played a central role in equipping young Papua New Guineans with practical skills and knowledge required in the modern workforce.
He further stated that many of the nation’s senior professionals owe their success to the vision and dedication of Sir Mick in establishing pathways for quality business and accounting education.
“You are now a citizen of Papua New Guinea,” Sir Bob said. “You are part of Vietnam, but you are also part of the people of Papua New Guinea.”
