University of Goroka Calls for Applications for 2026 Christmas Vacation Content Upgrade Program

The University of Goroka (UoG), in partnership with the National Department of Education (NDoE), is inviting applications from in-service primary school teachers for the 2026 Christmas Vacation Content Upgrade Program.

The program aims to address Mathematics, Science and English content gaps in Junior High Schools following the implementation of the 1-6-6 education structure and the Standards-Based Curriculum (SBC).

This qualification upgrade provides an opportunity for primary school teachers to advance from a Diploma to a Degree, enabling graduates to teach at both primary and junior high school levels.

Application Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Complete all sections of the application form. Incomplete applications may be rejected.
2. Attach certified copies of academic certificates, transcripts and other relevant educational qualifications.
3. Submit certified copies rather than original documents. Original documents must be presented during registration for verification. Failure to produce originals may result in rejection of admission.
4. Provide two recent passport-sized photographs, with the applicant's name and program clearly written on the back.
5. Pay a non-refundable application fee of K50.00 and attach the bank deposit receipt. Personal cheques will not be accepted.

Important Information

• Each application is for one program only.
• Faxed or emailed applications will not be accepted.
• Late applications received after the closing date will not be processed.
• Submitting an application does not guarantee admission to the university.
• The university reserves the right to amend or withdraw programs without prior notice.
• All successful new intakes must bring a laptop and smartphone during registration.

How to Apply

Interested in-service primary school teachers should obtain and complete the Christmas Vacation Content Upgrade for In-service Primary School Teachers Application Form. Applicants must attach all required academic documents, two passport-sized photographs and proof of payment before submitting their applications to the University of Goroka's Student Administration Division before the closing date.
