At most universities, the annual graduation ceremony is a day devoted to celebrating a significant point in students' lives.
Examinations are finally over, study stress has come to an end, scruffiness is replaced with fancy clothes and for some, mixed with traditional attires.

The 66th Graduation of the University of Papua New Guinea took place at the Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium from the 26th to 30th July 2021 last week.
Therein, students from all parts of PNG who completed their studies at the premier University of the South Pacific showed up in their best colors.
It was a time of celebration and admiration for parents as they bear witness to the ceremony for their child’s achievement following years of hard work, all accumulating to that single most significant event that celebrates their child’s educational achievement.
A time where students adorn themselves in their blue ornament and gather with limitless optimism and wonders of what the future holds for them in the vast and challenging world of professional employment.
Moments like this occur only a few times in one’s life, perhaps once, and marks a significant part of their journey.
As is the norm of our Melanesian society, it is not just their achievement alone but also an achievement for their family, friends, local community, tribe, clan, district, province, and for the country.
