About Pacific Adventist University

Pacific Adventist University began with a dream. The leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific dreamed  about a place where teachers, nurses, ministers and other professionals may be educated for the service of God and society.

When the property in Fourteen Mile, west of Port Moresby, was bought in 1977, the dream began to come true. The vision and  drive of the pioneers to attend the urgent need of providing tertiary education for the Pacific country islands led to the building of  classrooms, library, dormitories, dining hall, and a number of other buildings. The generous Hand of God was always there to   supply and to guide.

More than 36 years have passed since Pacific Adventist University opened its doors in 1984, and the original dream continues to   drive the activities of the university. PAU’s dream became a mission: To prepare graduates who are equipped and willing to serve   their community, their country, their church and their God. Our dream and mission is to help all students become the best they   can be for the best of others.

Now, the University is in a period of growth with new infrastructure, new programs, and increasing enrolment.
