THE La Salle Technical College in PNG has been given this year’s top explorer award by the Port Moresby Nature Park.
The award is given to schools which regularly visit the park for excursion programmes.
The Port Moresby Nature Park, in a statement, said the college’s grade 10 students, taking tourism and hospitality studies, had visited the park for practical lessons in July and August.
“We are always particularly happy to see more secondary and tertiary students participate in our education programmes,” Port Moresby Nature Park’s education manager Shirley Mogi said.
“Eco-tourism goes hand-in-hand with our mission of delivering conservation education and these are the people who are ready to join us on that mission.”
