IBS University signs MOU with PNGSTCS to research a Roadmap for future of Tertiary Education in PNG

It is undeniably true that the Higher Education sector had its fair share of impact when Covid-19 reached the shores of this country.

Lectures and practical lessons were affected; it was a rough phase for students in universities at that time. Using the Covid-19 experience as a lesson, the PNG Science and Technology Council and Secretariat signed a Memorandum of Understanding with three universities in the county; IBSUniversity, Divine Word University and Pacific Adventist University, on Thursday, 26 May 2022.

The three selected universities signed an MOU with the PNG Science and Technology Council and Secretariat as grant recipients of these research projects. As recipients of these research grants, the institutions will carry out vital research grants into the nation’s tertiary education sector.

The research program will look into how the higher education sector will respond to Covid-19 and other emerging diseases to better plan and execute during trying times.

The IBSUniversity, being a research party in this program, will focus its research on providing a roadmap for Tertiary Education in PNG based on the experience from the Covid-19 Pandemic. As per the agreement, the institution is responsible for presenting online teaching and learning findings of student-teacher relation experiences in the country’s higher institutions.
