Tertiary Selections Report for Hela Province 2025
According to the 2025 Tertiary Selection list released by the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST), 45 students from Hela Province have been selected to pursue studies in various tertiary institutions across the country. The list includes both school leavers and non-school leavers, highlighting a diverse range of academic achievements.
Magarima Secondary School emerged as the top-performing school in the province, with 10 students securing placements. These students will attend institutions such as Agriculture Colleges, Business Colleges, Schools of Nursing, Teachers Colleges, Technical Colleges, and universities. St. Joseph (Tari) Secondary School followed closely, with 8 students selected for tertiary education.
Other contributing schools include Hoiebia Secondary School, which saw 6 students gaining admission, and Koroba (Hupiko Memorial) Secondary School, with 3 students making it into tertiary institutions. Additionally, a significant number of non-school leavers were also successful, with 18 securing placements, making them the highest group overall in this category.
