University of Goroka Acceptance List for 2026 academic year
The University of Goroka has released the list of successful applicants for admission into the 2026 academic year. Applicants whose names do not appear on the list should consider their applications unsuccessful due to ineligibility or limited spaces.
2026 Selection List and Acceptance Letters
The 2026 acceptance list for School Leavers, Non School Leavers and other categories is available on the official University of Goroka website at www.unigoroka.ac.pg. Successful applicants will receive their acceptance letters through their registered email addresses. Applicants are advised to confirm their names and make arrangements immediately.
Fees Information for New and Continuing Students
New students are required to pay fees according to their enrolled programmes. Full details are provided in the 2026 fee schedule and will also be stated in individual offer letters.
Continuing students must clear all outstanding 2025 tuition fees and fully pay the compulsory fee component for 2026 before registration. This also applies to students whose HELP Loan applications were unsuccessful in 2025.
All students must pay one hundred percent of their total fees by 13 February 2026. Eligibility for the HELP Loan Scheme applies only after the required fee component has been paid. Corporate sponsors are expected to meet the same deadline.
All 2025 tuition fees must be paid into the University of Goroka BSP Bank Account Number 7015847481. Online banking is encouraged. Any cases of fee related fraud will be referred to the Police. All students must own a laptop for online learning.
Registration and Orientation Schedule
Registration for new students will be conducted from 16 to 20 February 2026. Orientation will take place from 23 to 27 February 2026. Continuing students will also register between 23 and 27 February 2026. Semester One lectures will begin on 2 March 2026.
Key Dates to Remember
The deadline for all fee payments is 13 February 2026. Registration for new intakes begins on 9 February 2026. Orientation starts on 23 February 2026 and lectures commence on 2 March 2026.
Travel Arrangements
Self sponsored students are responsible for their own travel costs to and from the University. Sponsored students will have their travel costs covered by their sponsors. Students under the Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology sponsorship must comply with the normal baggage allowance of sixteen kilograms.
Before travelling students should contact the Student Welfare Division via email at kerengak@unigoroka.ac.pg. Students arriving after 4 pm should contact Student Welfare or the University Security Office for pickup assistance.
Accommodation and Meals
Due to earthquake damage in 2022, priority for on campus accommodation will be given to female students on National Government TESAS scholarships and selected corporate sponsored students including DFAT, BEST and Ok Tedi.
Some students will be accommodated off campus within the Goroka area. Full fee paying students and other corporate sponsored students are advised to contact Student Welfare Services for assistance with off campus accommodation.
Students allocated accommodation by the University will receive temporary ID cards for dining hall access and room keys which must be returned at the end of the academic year. Students are advised to bring blankets and pillows or sufficient funds to purchase them locally due to Goroka’s cold climate.
Board and lodging on campus is strictly available to School Leavers and continuing pre service students under government sponsorships who have fully paid the required fees. All outstanding 2025 fees must be cleared before commencing the 2026 academic year.
