As part of his studies, he conducted a quantitative experimental psychological research into the interplay between accents, gender and perception of competence in the United Kingdom within the context of COVID-19 public messaging. He was awarded a score of 90% (First Class) for the research. He is currently working towards publishing the results of the study in scientific journals.

He also scored the highest overall in his class, putting him at the top of his cohort. Paul’s score is among the top 100 students in the United Kingdom (out of approximately 30,000 students in UK). As a result, he was awarded the British Psychological Society (BPS) Award. The award allows him to become a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society which is the first step towards chartership. He will be remaining in the UK to continue with post-graduate studies and eventual chartership with the BPS.

Paul is one of the very few PNG students who have chosen to undertake under-graduate studies in the UK. We are proud of the bold step he took and the resulting high achievement.
