Nickel 28 Capital Corporation Tertiary Student Scholarship 2024
Scholarship Opportunity for Year 2 Earth Sciences Students
Nickel 28 Capital Corporation, in partnership with the Earth Sciences Division of the University of Papua New Guinea’s School of Natural and Physical Sciences, is offering to sponsor the Best Year 1 Student who will be enroling as a Year 2 Earth Sciences Student in 2024.
The Company, who sponsored a Year 2 Earth Sciences student in 2023, decided that a scholarship was an appropriate scheme to contribute towards the development of the next generation of Geoscientists and Geologists in PNG, and is extending its scholarship program to the 2024 Academic Year.
Nickel 28 is offering the Nickel 28 Capital Corporation Tertiary Student Scholarship for the 2024 Academic Year to the
top SFY student in 2023, who will be enroling as a Year 2 Earth Sciences student in 2024, and is calling for applications from suitable candidates.
The scholarship covers Tuition Fee, Boarding and Lodging, Book, and Living Allowances.
The minimum requirements are as follows:
Student who scored
- Credit or better in Physical Geology and Earth History;
- Credit or better in Chemistry 1A and 1B;
- Credit or better in Foundation Mathematics 1 and 2 ;
- Credit or better in Physics 1A and 1B; and
- GPA of 3.0 or better, with no Fail grades.
The eligible student must:
- sign a scholarship agreement with Nickel 28 Capital Corporation; and
- not be a recipient of any other corporate scholarship.
The Scholarship is for a year, and is maintained in year 2 and 3 only upon the student’s attainment of Credit or better in the Earth Sciences courses, with a GPA of 3.0 or better, with no Fail grades.
Applications from interested Year 1 students should comprise Cover Letter, Curriculum Vitae, Certified UPNG Academic Transcript with all Year 1 results, an Academic Reference, and a Character Reference. All application must be submitted no later than 15 January 2024. All applicants will be interviewed before the successful applicant is selected by 26 January 2024.
