Tertiary Selections report for Milne Bay Province 2025

 The Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST) has released the 2025 tertiary selection results, highlighting the number of students from Milne Bay Province who have secured placements in various tertiary institutions across the country.



School Performances

The following provides a detailed breakdown of the selections for schools in Milne Bay Province:

  1. Cameron Secondary School: A total of 135 students were selected, with 48 to Business College, 7 to School of Nursing, 2 to Teachers College, 27 to Technical College, and 51 to universities.
  2. Kiriwina Secondary: 40 students secured placements, including 12 to Business College, 2 to School of Nursing, 3 to Teachers College, 10 to Technical College, and 13 to universities.
  3. Wesley Agro Secondary: 72 students were selected, with 29 to Agriculture College, 1 to School of Nursing, 13 to Teachers College, 17 to Technical College, and 12 to universities.
  4. Santa Maria (Watuluma) Secondary: 61 students secured placements, including 1 to Agriculture College, 26 to Business College, 4 to School of Nursing, 5 to Teachers College, 17 to Technical College, and 8 to universities.
  5. Misima Secondary: 54 students were selected, with 33 to Business College, 7 to Teachers College, 6 to Technical College, and 8 to universities.
  6. Sacred Heart (Hagita) Secondary: 66 students secured placements, including 1 to Agriculture College, 29 to Business College, 2 to School of Nursing, 12 to Teachers College, 15 to Technical College, and 7 to universities.
  7. Holy Name (Dogura) Secondary: A total of 34 students were selected, with placements including 18 to Business College, 3 to Teachers College, 8 to Technical College, and 5 to universities.

Non-School Leavers: 25 students secured placements, including 1 to Agriculture College, 6 to Business College, 2 to School of Nursing, 5 to Teachers College, 10 to Technical College, and 1 to a university.

Overall Selections

Milne Bay Province recorded a total of 487 students securing placements in tertiary institutions, distributed as follows:

  • 3 students to Agriculture Colleges.
  • 201 students to Business Colleges.
  • 18 students to Schools of Nursing.
  • 50 students to Teachers Colleges.
  • 110 students to Technical Colleges.
  • 105 students to universities.
