Tertiary Selections Report for Southern Highlands Province 2025

According to the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST) 2025 Tertiary Selection list, a total of 409 students from the Southern Highlands Province have secured placements in various tertiary institutions across the country. This includes both school leavers and non-school leavers.

Mendi Secondary School leads with the highest number of students securing placements, totaling 107. This includes 30 students admitted to universities, 24 to business colleges, and 22 to technical colleges. Following closely is Ialibu Secondary School, which had 80 students selected, with 28 admitted to universities and 21 to business colleges. Kaupena Secondary School also performed well, with 38 students selected, including 11 each for technical colleges and business colleges.

Non-school leavers accounted for 66 of the total selections. These individuals gained places in various institutions, including 25 at teachers' colleges, 16 at universities, and 9 at business colleges. This highlights the opportunities available for individuals outside the regular school system to pursue tertiary education.

Other notable schools include Mogol Secondary with 37 students selected and Kagua Secondary with 33 students securing placements. Kutubu Secondary, Nipa Secondary, and Aisoli Memorial (Pangia) Secondary also contributed to the overall success, with their students gaining placements in various colleges and universities.
